The Barlow Planetarium in Menasha looks like a really neat place to visit. I've actually never been to a planetarium, but I really want to take the kids here when they get a little bit older.
It is important to note that you have to look at their show schedule in order to plan your visit, but they seem to run shows pretty regularly. They also hold special events throughout the year.
The Barlow Planetarium claims to have a state-of-the-art projection system. It is run by UW-Fox Valley.

Preview Post: Bergstrom Mahler Museum of Glass
I was a little bit skeptical when I started looking into the Bergstrom Mahler Museum of Glass. I am pretty hesitant to take my crew anywhere that has "Glass" in its name (!), but as I look into it, I think the kids would be pretty intrigued. There are lighted exhibits, and they offer classes.

Preview Post: Chuck E Cheese's
There is a branch of the Chuck E Cheese restaurant chain in Appleton. We haven't been to this particular one, but I'm going to guess it's very similar to the one we have? Mascot show, game room, kids' paradise...
There's no admission fee, but the only thing you can do for free is watch the show.

Preview Post: Badger Sports Park
Badger Sports Park in Appleton bills itself as an entertainment center. They have a pretty good selection of activities to choose from. It looks like the older your family is, the more they will be able to participate. A few of the attractions have age restrictions (laser tag, go karts), others are just not realistic for the littles (batting cages).
This place looks like a lot of fun for an active family. It could definitely add up, though. There are hourly or daily passes (with some exclusions); you can also pay a la carte per activity.

Menominee Park and Zoo
Menominee Park is a large park in Oshkosh. There are ball diamonds, a beach, a large community-constructed wooden playground, and a zoo!
There is also a walking path through the park. There is a small "amusement" area with a car ride and carousel. It also hosts a small train that runs through the park. Paddle boats are available for rent. Most of the park is free (including the zoo), but it does cost to ride the rides. While most of these are only open seasonally, there is definitely a plethora of activities to keep the whole family busy!
