The Little Farmer

The Little Farmer is a fall playland in Malone. 

There is goat-feeding.

And a whole play area with climbing structures (including some made of straw bales), tricycles, and all sorts of fun.  There were also inflatable bouncy horses, which were a lot of fun.

These pedal cars were a favorite for sure!

The kids also enjoyed the little garden, which had little hidden secrets.  They liked the natural tic-tac-toe a lot.

Most importantly, the Little Farmer has the best caramel apple bar!  You get to pick your perfect size apple and choose your favorite toppings.  You can even turn it into a caramel apple "sundae."

One thing I really appreciate about the Little Farmer is that you pay for what you do.  Anyone can wander around for free.  The food prices were not outrageous, and the play area was only $1 per person.  Adults had to pay, but I could deal with a dollar.

The maze and hayride were more expensive, around $4 each if I recall correctly.  They seemed a little bit pricey comparatively.  We decided to just go with the corn maze.  The maze includes a puzzle you try to solve as you work your way through, which was a pretty fun addition.

Jelli's Market

Our clan took a trip out Jelli's Market to pick some apples.  Aside from pick-your-own apples, they also set up a few fun activities to make the trip a little more interesting.  One of my kiddo's favorite was the lawn Jenga game.

Another big hit seemed to be the "real life" Angry Birds.  They have an actual slingshot and rubber duckies:)

There are other fruit selections when in season as well as a market.  It's a nice little place to spend a couple of hours.

Lapacek's Orchard

I took my Kindergarten classes to Lapacek's Orchard for the past 4 years.  Unfortunately, they don't allow u-pick apples, but they do have some other produce you may pick yourself.  Plus, there are other fun things to do!

Lapacek's has an orchard walk, a sunflower field to play in, and two play areas.  One is made entirely of tires, which was always a big hit with my Kinders.  They also enjoyed the animals!

If you're looking for one adventure after the other, you'll probably get through everything in a couple of hours, but we always made a day of it.  We did most in the morning, ate a picnic lunch, then played on the equipment until it was time to head back to school.

Staude's Apple Blossom Acres

 We spent the day at the farm picking apples - and by day, I mean about half an hour!  It was great!  We got the whole apple-picking experience without taking up our entire day.

Apple Blossom Acres is a family farm.  They do honey and pumpkins too, although I don't think they allow you to harvest your own honey :)  Pumpkins I'm not sure about.

Mr. Staude was great with my kiddo.  He took us down to his apple trees, suggested the best kinds for what we were looking for, and then he helped her pick her apples.

When we were done, Mr. Staude showed us around the farm a bit and sent us on our way.  Pleasant experience :)
